charli | newborn

Charli is such a beautiful little girl. It's weird to think that this shoot wasn't scheduled until January and that Tori should still be pregnant, but Miss Charli had her own agenda apparently that surprised everyone! She arrived early and is big and healthy. What an awesome Christmas gift to arrive right before the holiday. She was an angel the entire shoot--she slept the whole time.

Doesn't get any more perfect than this...

What I love about this shot is that it just happened. Unplanned.

kendall | 6 months

Miss Kendall is really growing up! Six month shoots are always fun because it's often the first time that I get to see true personalities come to life at a shoot. This was the case with Kendall. She really has a lot of expressions and she showed just how happy of a little girl she is! She also brought along her little cousin from California (Brynn), who was in town visiting for the holidays.

I love this shot of Kendall:)

halle, grant & jenna | winter wonderland

I'm not typically a huge fan of the snow, but when someone WANTS to do a shoot in the snow, I'm ALL FOR IT! Yes, it was freezing, wet and windy, but it made for an awesome backdrop. Plus, these kids are my cousins and I knew they were tough;) I drive past this land weekly and have always thought to myself that it would make a great spot for a shoot. But then I wonder how in the world I will tell a client how to get there (with no "real" place to park), and then I eventually talk myself out of it. But the good thing about doing shoots for my own family is that they can be my guinea pigs! Ha! We basically just pulled over on the side of this country road (and yes, a good samaritan did stop to see if we needed help--they thought we were stranded on the side of the road)! I would shoot for 15 minutes, then the kids would hop back in the car to warm up, then we go another 15 minutes, then warm up, and so on. I'm so glad Erin and Allen trusted me, because I love these photos of the kids!

Meet Jenna (left), Grant and Halle!

Jenna is sweet, shy and reserved... (I had Grant making some fart noises behind me to get her to smile:)

Yes, Halle has bare legs in the snow! She's a trooper--they all are, actually.

We kept our minds off of the cold by quoting lines from Christmas Vacation. "Audrey's frozen from the waste down, Clark."
